As many of you are aware Phil & Danni have now brought Garnffrwd Park and fly fishery in South Wales. The rumour mill is blazing with the reduction in price of the freehold land at Brick Farm Lakes, but please be assured that the fly fishery here is still very much open! The day to day running of the fishery is currently being done by Linda & Graham and Lorraine & Mark. Phil & Danni continue to oversee and manage Brick Farm and are popping back for regular visits. Although the freehold of the fishery is for sale, and has been for some considerable time, our lease still has several years left on it.
We continue to stock regularly, and are replenishing between stockings where necessary. Water levels on Spring lake are almost back to normal and we continue to clear leaves to keep the overflows flowing.
The recent cold snap has had a very positive effect on fishing with many anglers catching or exceeding their tickets. Most notably of recent include Mark Baker who popped in for a few hours on his bulk ticket and was rewarded with 7 fish! John Ramsden had a great day with catches on each of our 4 lakes using a rubber legged daddy, and Simon Kiley caught his 4 fish very quickly one morning but stayed at the fishery to help a new angler who ended up landing his first fish!
Club and group days are very popular at this time of year: Eastbourne & District Fly Fishing Club joined us for their Chairman’s Day which included bacon rolls & a ploughmans lunch, and Sussex Police visited us recently too. The police group indulged in our festive turkey, stuffing & cranberry rolls with roast potatoes at lunchtime – alongside some fantastic fishing, they had a brilliant day!
The date of our festive competition is 28th December. This is always a really great event, and very relaxed and friendly. Comprising a 3 fish ticket, bacon roll to start, jacket potato and filling at 1pm along with trophy presentation. Total price £55.
